I’m Callie! Welcome to “Binge Worthy Bites”
So you’ve made your way over to my little corner of the internet. First of all, I’m thrilled to have you! You’re going to love it here, I promise.
When asked, I’d have to say that my love affair with food probably dates back to when I was a little kid and I had to be bribed out of bed with waffles. In fact, the only thing strong enough to pry my eyes open in the morning was the smell of my beloved waffles; and I can honestly say, I’ve yet to meet an alarm clock that could coax me out of bed the way waffles did.
Fast forward several years to when the wheels on this tasty train began turning. It all started when I was photographing the menu items for my sister’s restaurant. I worked obsessively to pose each dish in a way that captured its most delicious-looking angles. In doing so, I learned that even food has a “good side.” I began to notice that this new hobby of mine was sparking a serious interest for me. Slowly, my work began following me home, sometimes in my purse and often covered in plastic wrap; my desire to really communicate the flavors of food through photography was taking over.
Today, my biggest passions are recipe creation, photography, and bringing people together to share the food I’m so excited to post about . My official taste-tester and biggest fan is my wonderful husband, Aidan. Somehow I lucked out with not only the most supportive husband in the world, but the handiest! This summer I decided I wanted to guarantee myself that I was using the freshest possible produce in my recipes and told him I was going to plant a garden. Realizing that I was on a mission,he built self-watering water-box planters for what became an incredible produce garden.
Acknowledging his woodworking talent, Aidan and I partnered to create the Binge Worthy Bites Etsy Shop (click here to see it!). Our Etsy shop is where we sell unique, handcrafted, wooden cutting boards. Our slogan is “made by a cook, for a cook” because only someone passionate about cooking will truly understand the importance of a high-quality cutting board. For those who might not use them for actual cooking, they are also the perfect setting for a charcuterie spread.
My Binge Worthy home base would not be complete without my two assistant “taste-buds,” Leo and Luna. Leo and Luna are my mischievous little Sphynx kittens that are constantly inserting themselves into my shots. They’re the cutest photobombs I could ask for, and I swear if cats could be foodies, they most definitely would be.
The intention of my blog is to provide my fellow kitchen enthusiasts with “binge worthy” recipes that anyone can make and everyone will enjoy. My aim is to create recipes that are low in labor and high in quality, so that your time and money are spent making exceptional meals and snacks that you’ll be excited to prepare for your friends and family too . My hope is that Binge Worthy Bites can be a place where you get recipes you’ll want to hold onto and helpful tips that make your life a little easier and a lot tastier.
